PARTNER TORREY GERDES WAS ISSUE EDITOR FOR THE EMPLOYMENT LAW EDITION OF THE NEBRASKA LAWYER

Baylor Evnen Partner Torrey Gerdes served as issue editor of the Nebraska State Bar Association’s (NSBA) annual employment law edition of The Nebraska Lawyer published in December 2021. This follows Torrey’s continued service as a member of the Executive Committee of the NSBA’s Labor Relations and Employment Law Section, to which she was recently elected Treasurer.

As issue editor, Torrey was primarily responsible for selecting timely topics relevant to Nebraska lawyers; finding a diverse group of authors to contribute feature articles; and editing the articles prior to publication. She vetted a number of topics to select interesting and timely employment themes for publication. The issue includes articles that explore pandemic workplace concerns, considerations for drafting employment agreements and restrictive covenants, and employment and labor law developments following the Presidential administration transition, among others.

Torrey is the chair of the Firm’s employment practice group. She advises clients on workplace compliance and strategy for addressing various employment-related claims both before and during litigation. Torrey also represents individuals, political subdivisions, business clients, and professionals in professional malpractice, municipal/political subdivision litigation, business litigation, premises liability, and other tort claims.
