IOWA WORKERS’ COMPENSATION RATE INCREASES EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2024

Effective July 1, 2024, the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Statewide Average Weekly Wage (SAWW) will rise to $1,137.20. The minimum and maximum weekly workers’ compensation rates are calculated using the SAWW. This is an increase from the previous year’s rate of $1,099.55.

Additionally, effective July 1, 2024, the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Maximum Weekly Rate for TTD, healing period, PTD, and death benefits will increase to $2,274.00. The Maximum Weekly Rate for PPD benefits will rise to $2,092.00.

The Minimum Weekly Rate for PPD, PTD, and death benefits will increase to $398.00.

Finally, effective July 1, 2024, the Iowa Workers’ Compensation Mileage Reimbursement Rate will rise to 67 cents per mile for travel related to medical treatment or participation in an approved vocational rehabilitation plan.

The new rate is an increase from the previous year’s rate of 65.5 cents per mile. The previous year’s rate still applies to travel that occurred from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024.
