Iowa Workers’ Compensation Commissioner Christopher Godfrey Expresses Intent to Resign

Recently, it was announced by the Iowa State Bar Association that Commissioner Godfrey has announced his resignation effective August 21, 2014. Commissioner Godfrey will be moving to Washington, D.C. to serve as Chief Judge of the Federal Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board. No word has been given as to whether an interim Commissioner will be named or appointed. Additionally, no time frame has been provided as to when the naming and confirmation of a new Iowa Workers’ Compensation Commissioner will occur.
