by | Nov 18, 2020

On January 1, 2021, the maximum weekly income benefit rate under the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Act will increase to $914.00. This amount will apply to work-related injuries and illnesses occurring on or after January 1, 2021.

The new figure, $914.00, represents one hundred percent of the state wide average weekly wage (rounded to the nearest dollar) as determined by the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court using the statutorily mandated formula. Neb. Rev. Stat. §§48-121.01 and 48-121.02. While the maximum weekly benefit rate has increased, the minimum weekly benefit rate of $49.00 remains unchanged.

The previous maximum rate of $882.00 will remain the maximum benefit rate for work-related injuries and illnesses occurring between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.
