2016 Baylor Evnen Workers’ Compensation Seminar

by | Apr 19, 2016

The 2016 Baylor Evnen Nebraska and Iowa Workers’ Compensation Seminar took place Thursday, April 14, 2016. Attendees witnessed a mock trial presented by Baylor Evnen attorneys, and recently retired partner Walt Zink serving as trial judge, which set the stage for the subsequent presentations and allowed attendees to gain a better understanding of how actions taken at various levels of a claim ultimately influence the outcome of a trial years later.  The trial helped attendees better understand the issues of notice, causation, return to work, medical investigation, temporary and permanent disability issues, psychiatric claims and how the timeline of a claim affect the subsequent outcome.

Jon Cook, the National Championship Nebraska Volleyball Coach spoke to the audience during lunch about leadership and team building.

The Workers’ Compensation Seminar was approved for continuing education hours for Nebraska and Iowa attorneys (5.58 hours and 3.5 hours, respectively.) Credit may also be obtained for those holding a CPCU in the state of Nebraska (4.0 hours).  Attendees of the seminar received login information to access the day’s presentation materials that are available on the Resource Center page on our website.
