ANDREW D. WEEKS
Andrew is a member of the firm’s Litigation practice group. He has extensive jury trial experience and feels equally at home in a courtroom in Alliance as he does in Lincoln. Originally from central Nebraska, he enjoys practicing throughout the state and has taken jury trials to verdict in Box Butte, Douglas, Hall, Lancaster, Madison, Pierce, Platte, and Stanton counties. In addition, he has federal trial experience in both Nebraska and Iowa.
Andrew has a diverse legal background in civil litigation, family law, and criminal defense. Andrew’s civil litigation experience includes defense of railroads in FELA and retaliation lawsuits, feedlot litigation, personal injury, contracts, and First Amendment retaliation and free exercise claims. Although litigation is an adversarial process, Andrew’s approach is to use efforts early in litigation to narrow the issues in dispute. By focusing on the issues that matter, clients can better appreciate the risks involved in litigation and seek the best resolution, whether through settlement or taking the case to verdict. Andrew uses discovery to strategically advance his clients goals and has had success in excluding experts and obtaining several summary judgments orders.
When it comes to family law, Andrew recognizes that the decision to legally end a marriage is a difficult one. He has been in your shoes and will work to guide you through the process. In the midst of a significant life change, he will help you achieve your goals and prepare you as you move forward.
Andrew has extensive criminal law experience. Out of law school, he was second chair in a capital murder case. He has experience as a public defender in Pierce and Lancaster counties. He has tried several misdemeanor and felony cases to juries, including obtaining multiple not guilty verdicts for his clients.
When Andrew is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his kids, his dogs, and cheering on the Huskers.
